The backbone of Sonoran Desert Homeschoolers is our weekly Park Day. It provides families with a chance to get to know each other in a casual way - trading tips, sharing food, and allowing for hours of unstructured play time for the children and oftentimes much needed adult conversation for the parents. Many families schedule their plans around Park Day, and many children say it is the highlight of their week. SDH meets every Tuesday from mid-August through mid-May, alternating monthly between Brandi Fenton, Hoffman, Rio Vista, and Ft. Lowell Parks. Families arrive anytime after 12:00 and there are usually people still enjoying themselves until around 4:00. Announcements are held every Park Day between 1-2. This is an important time where parents get to introduce themselves, hear about any new activities or events, and learn more about the other families in the group.
